AFMASS was held at the Visa Oshwal Centre in Westlands, Nairobi from the 25th to the 27th of April. The show brought together major stakeholders in the food and beverage, grains, milling, baking, food service and animal feed industries in sub-Saharan Africa. We, were a part of the exhibitors among companies like Twiga chemicals, BASF, and Kericho Gold.
Our Business Development Director, Craig Robertson, was one of the speakers at the conferences that ran concurrently with the exhibitions. He highlighted a number of key issues concerning how to make the best choice when choosing a floor for the food and beverage company. He mainly focused on the silver ion technology, an additive that is incorporated into the polyurethane matrix to offer an advanced surface protection against harmful bacteria, mould and yeasts.
This not only makes them easy to clean, but also since they are HACCP approved, they come with additional flooring elements, such as coving, meaning that a floor plan can be created to meet the needs of each food and beverage environment.
At our booth, there was a team on standby to attend to visitors and delegates who were curious to know more about epoxy and polyurethane floors. It was quite an experience that got us to meet some of our best clients within the industry. It gave us the opportunity to trade, learn new trends and technology in the building industry as well as finding ready market for our products.
